VDK poslao pismo i prilog CESMI

Dear Colleagues,

Trust this email finds all of you, your loved ones and of course your
members and their families well amidst the ongoing COVID-19 Pandemic.

Today I am writing to you on behalf of the executive board of VDKS, the
Association of German Shipmasters and Ship Officers.

About a month ago we were contacted by Sea-Watch (www.sea-watch.org/en),
one of the organizations conducting civil search and rescue operations
in the Central Mediterranean. They invited us (VDKS) to join in as a
co-signatory organization of the attached Open Letter to the heads of
European Institutions and European Member States demanding compliance of
all European Union Member States with current Maritime Legislation and
the support of any vessel involved in any sea rescue operation.

The recent case of MV Talia once again highlighted that a timely
European solution is urgently needed.

We believe that it will give further strength to the Open Letter if
CESMA and the national CESMA Member Associations join in and become
co-signatories of the attached final draft of the Open Letter.
